I was on Pinterest the other day and found a really cute template for blogger, so i decided to create a new blog, and start writing regularly again over there. But in the process of creating this new template i accidentally transferred it here too, and i didn't save my old template either! So i did some quick changes here and tried to make it similar to what it was.

I also deleted my blog list, when i realized what i had done i was devastated! Then i realized i could just go through my history and find all my favorite blogs again, so i was happy again!

Fresh start

I got a haircut today! Decided to cut off most of my hair. It feels really good, it's a new look, new start for another year of school

I am going into my second year of university on Thursday, and I'm excited for this new year to start. I'm feeling very refreshed, and ready to start school again.

I had a really good summer, we went camping in BC for two weeks, with some other families, and it was a blast, as it always is! I have also been working everyday as well, which has been tough and mentally exhausting. I quit one of my jobs, which feels amazing, it's nice to have that stress gone. And i am now debating weather i should get another new job, or just focus on this very special project i am about to pursue. (more on that later!).

I am also thinking about doing project life this year. Im not sure when i would want to start, either the beginning of the school year, or new years, or even my birthday. not sure yet. have you seen the new designs?? They are gorgeous, i am in love with the Clementine edition!! Swoon!

I also have some exciting news, that i will be announcing very soon. I just have some loose ends to tie up, and then i will share!

This is my first page ever published somewhere, and i was very excited to get asked to contribute something!

Vacation album

This is my favorite new project that i completed! It's an album for our camping trip last year, to the campsite that we visit every-year with a group of friends. I got this cute 4x6 album from walmart. And then used a October afternoon 8x8 paper pad for the paper.

The album only holds 36 photos and i had to fit over 100 in here, so i picked my favorites and kept them 4x6, and then matched up the rest to either fit 2 per page or 4 per page.

ever couple of pages, i stuck in a patterned paper, so i could write my journaling there, and add some embellishments to spruce it up a bit.

this year i bought a disposable underwater camera, and i wanted to include these in here as well, rather then make a whole other album for them. So i picked my favorites and put them in the remaining pockets, and then glued an envelope to the back of the book, and stuck the rest of the photos in there.

Once i had everything laid out it was so easy to compile! You could probably finish this in about an hour, or an hour and a half. I loved that i could do it in an afternoon, and i love the results!!

Away for awhile

I am going on a trip tomorrow, me and a friend are going on a cruise to mexico! I am very excited, this will be a very nice vacation, and much needed as well! the last time i was out of Canada was in grade 4, and i've just finished my first year of university!
i've been doing a lot of crafting lately, and i will post lots of pictures and projects once i get back!!

I hope to be doing a lot of beach sitting while i'm away!

One of my favorite christmas presents this year was my holga 135 turqoiuse camera!
There is quite the story behind this first roll of film. My dad volunteered to load the camera for me, because he "knew" what he was doing, and i thought he did. But he loaded it wrong. I shot 24 pictures, which was supposed to be the whole roll, but the film was still advancing to 36. We loaded it wrong. It turns out i had taken 24 pictures on on frame because the film wasn't advancing properly.
So I opened up the back and re-loaded the film, took 24 pictures and got them developed! Only 17 of them turned out, and only about 5 were clear enough to see what they were. I will never load film wrong ever again! Lesson learned.
These were the best ones:

I've figured out that the 400 speed film can ONLY be used outside. None of the indoor ones turned out, no matter how much light was present. So i will remember that for next time!

It was my mom's birthday on the 18th, so we did a two day celebration. On her birthday we all went for afternoon tea at a hotel downtown. It was the cutest thing! We all got our own tea pot, and a tray of "tea foods" which were small pastry's and finger sandwiches. It was all very delicious and so cute! Yesterday me and my sisters made her dinner, so when she came home from work she didn't have to do anything. We made homemade sushi and tempura. It was delicious!

Erinn, my younger sister is a really good baker! She made a red velvet cake for my mom as a surprise. One of my favorite Bloggers is the author of I am Baker. She makes gorgeous desserts, and a little while back posted this cake. I knew we had to make it for my mom, so we did and this is how it turned out:

It was so moist and delicious, but Erinn messed up the frosting. She thought that confectioners sugar, was just plain sugar, not icing sugar, so instead of icing sugar she put in regular sugar. So the icing was really sweet, and a little grainy, but still tasted fine with the cake!

I helped her decorate with the roses, and we were so proud that it looked so good after!

I mentioned that i wanted to change the blog around, and i have finally gotten it to a place that i like. I wanted a change, but each of the changes i made just didn't seem like me. This weekend i was playing around with some business card ideas for my sister, and came up with a new blog headder in the process. I LOVE this one, it seems more me, and is a nice change!

I decided to change the name because i have grown out of it, literally. I am growing up, soon to be 19, which is still a teenager, but i feel more like an adult, and then name just didn't fit anymore.

Album idea

Elise Blaha is one of my favorite bloggers, when ever i see her in my feed, i'm instantly excited, all of her work and craft projects are so inspirational! I fell in love with her blog a couple years ago after she posted a project on Ali edwards blog, i was instantly hooked! Her mini-books are what initially grabbed.

She posted a project about an album she's going to do this year, and i love it so much i might just do one like it too! you can find her's here.

i like the different size of the photos she uses, it's so unique and different then anything i have ever done.

i think i will include pictures from the month, doing full pictures for the ones i absolutley love, and then collages for the other ones.

As for the journaling, i will use these templates which you can find here, here, here and here and i'm not sure how but i'll have to expand them to fit the page size, i'll try it out in Photoshop or illustrator and see how it turns out!

I think it's a great take on Project life, and very easy and simple to complete!

40 things layout

I wrote This blog post a couple years ago about "40" things about me, and i made a layout about it so i can see the passage of time. i think it would be interesting to do something like this every couple years, and see the difference. Or maybe once every birthday would be a good idea too.

i printed off as many bullets on the sheet of paper that i could fit, and then printed the entire list and tucked it behind the layout with a little tab. which can be pulled out to read.

i can't believe this was two years ago, that seems so weird to me. i also can't believe i am about to turn 19 in a couple months too! Why do we have to grow up so fast? I wish i could slow it down for a little while.

This was made after my birthday, one of my friends threw me a surprise party. But i had guessed what she was doing and it wasn't much of a surprise for me. I'm good a guessing things!!

i tried to include as many pictures as i can, there were so many that were taken that night! And i am also including this in my high-school scrapbook, which has pages made from activities from school, of hanging out with friends, i'm including everything i can from grade 10 until grade 12.

i made this layout Summer 2009. i was going through my old albums looking through all my layouts and picked some that i Love that i will be posting soon.

There is quite the story behind going to the taylor swift concert when she was here in town, and because of that i had to include the whole story, which i wrote on just a loose leaf paper, and then placed behind the layout attached with a paper clip.

For the journaling i gave the quick version of the story,and an overall view of the concert. It was amazing! and i would recommend going to one if she's in your city, there really isn't anythin like it!This is one of my all-time favorite layouts, and i just smile every-time i see it, because i remember the story behind it, and then i think of how happy i am that i was able to record and document that story into a layout i simply adore. And that's why i love scrapbooking so much!

I am thinking about attempting project life, or project 365 again.

But i am really not sure weather i should do it or not! I have attempted i think 3 different times now, and quit after 2-4 months into the project. In all cases it became too much to keep track of and was causing too much stress for me, so i decided to stop.

Even with all that said i still want to do this! I want to take a picture a day for a whole year, i want a year of my life documented! It is a life goal for me, but i don't know if i can do it or not.

I LOVE Becky Higgins new Project life kit, i love the turquoise edition, but i also love the system i came up with last year as well. i took some page protectors for the journaling which i will print on cardstock at home, and then the pictures go into some 4x6 page protectors i stole from a simple photo album that i bought at walmart.

Here's what i've been thinking, that will make this project different then any other attempt i've tried. I found this written on a blog, i just can't remember which one: This is defiantly very true and i need to let go of all the stress and focus on documenting my life, however much that is.

"If you miss a day (or 20) pick back up and carry on. When it’s all said and done you won’t care so much about the days that you missed but you will so treasure the days that you have documented."

so i guess after all this rambling and thinking, i am going to attempt this again, now all i need is to figure out when!

I dont know what system im going to use yet, i do want Becky Higgins kit, but not sure if i can afford it right now, perhaps in a couple months when i get another job, we'll see. So maybe i'll stick to my system right now.

I need to upload pictures every week, and label them.

I will create a new iphoto "account" just for project life so they're all there in one place, not mixed up with all the other pictures.

And most of all i need to relax a little bit, if i miss a day, just keep going and continuing on, document what you can and what you have time for.

I got myself a new toy today! I got a gift card to a mall from my grandparents for my graduation, and i decided to spend it today!

so i got myself a mini instax camera!!

and i am in love, okay well i've only taken one picture so far, but i still love it!

i have wanted on of these since they came out about 2 years ago, and i am so happy to finally have one in my hands just for me!

i also ordered this album off of etsy which is made to fit the pictures perfectly and come in lots of different colors. i got the blue one!

any suggestions for using the camera? do you have one?

Well alot has happened lately i have recently started university, well this is my first day to be exact. im in a program that i am really excited about its called information design. Anyway here are some back to school pictures with me and my sisters.

Summer has been fun but not what i expected it to be. To be perfectly honest summer never came, weather here was absolute crap this year, its been rainy and cold, there wasn't a lot of hot days and if there was i was working all day so i didn't get to enjoy at all. It has felt way more like late fall and winter around here then summer, so i am really hoping that winter is short and warmer this year instead of below 40-45 like last year. Anyway these were some pictures from the summer i will post more later. Most are from our vacation camping where we had really nice whether, the only good weather all summer!

As for scrapbooking projects i am working on my grad album right now, and i want to get a summer 2010 album done as well. i haven't been scrapping lately because i have been so busy but i have all of this creative energy in me that i need to get out now, so hopefully i can crank out some projects soon!

I know its a couple days late, but the truth is i didn't have these done until the night of. But i thought these were way to cute not to share! I used my favorite polaroid maker the poladroid, click on the link and you can download it too, and make polaroids out of every one of your pictures!

I printed off the polaroids i wanted to use, most of these images were from tumblr, sorry i don't have links, if you know one let my know and i'll post it so i can give proper credit. Anyway, i printed them off at home, sizes were 3.25"x4.5" cut them and adhered patterned paper on the back as well as my note, typed with my typewriter.
The Cute heart punches were cut with MArtha Stewarts punch, Love it, use it on a lot of my projects.

Aren't they cute??? And you could use it for any card you want, birthday christmas, you name it, just put some cute paper on the back and stick it in an envelope!

I did some scrapbooking last week, so i thought i would share. This first one is about Market collective, it's an event where local artists come to sell their work, from jewlery to photography to baking, to art. Me and my sisters love going! And it just so happens there is another one tomorrow!

I found this on someone's tumblr account which you can find here. And if you haven't heard of tumblr before, man are you missing out, it is the next best thing to scrapbooking, and you have to check it out! Anyway, i thought this was very interesting:

1. You forget 90% of your dreams.Within 5 minutes of waking, half of your dream is forgotten. Within 10, 90% is gone.
2. Blind people also dream. People who became blind after birth can see images in their dreams. People who are born blind do not see any images, but have dreams equally vivid involving their other senses of sound, smell, touch and emotion.
3. Everybody dreams. Every human being dreams (except in cases of extreme psychological disorder). If you think, you are not dreaming, you just forget your dreams.
4. In our dreams, we only see faces that we already know. Our mind is not inventing faces – in our dreams we see real faces of real people that we have seen during our life but may not know or remember. We have all seen hundreds of thousands of faces throughout our lives, so we have an endless supply of characters for our brain to utilize during our dreams.
5. Not everybody dreams in color. A full 12% of sighted people dream exclusively in black and white. The remaining number dream in full color. Studies from 1915 through to the 1950s maintained that the majority of dreams were in black and white, but these results began to change in the 1960s. Today, only 4.4% of the dreams of under-25 year-olds are in black and white. Recent research has suggested that those changing results may be linked to the switch from black-and-white film and TV to color media.
6. Dreams are symbolic. If you dream about some particular subject it is not often that the dream is about that. Dreams speak in a deeply symbolic language. Whatever symbol your dream picks on it is most unlikely to be a symbol for itself.
7. Emotions; The most common emotion experienced in dreams is anxiety. Negative emotions are more common than positive ones.
8. You can have four to seven dreams in one night. On average, you can dream anywhere from one or two hours every night.
9. Animals dream too. Studies have been done on many different animals, and they all show the same brain waves during dreaming sleep as humans. Watch a dog sleeping sometime. The paws move like they are running and they make yipping sounds as if they are chasing something in a dream.
10. Body Paralysis.
Rapid eye movement (REM) sleep is a normal stage of sleep characterized by rapid movements of the eyes. REM sleep in adult humans typically occupies 20-25% of total sleep, about 90-120 minutes of a night’s sleep.
During REM sleep the body is paralyzed by a mechanism in the brain in order to prevent the movements which occur in the dream from causing the physical body to move. However, it is possible for this mechanism to be triggered before, during, or after normal sleep while the brain awakens.
11. Dream Incorporation. Our mind interprets the external stimuli that our senses are bombarded with when we are asleep and make them a part of our dreams. This means that sometimes, in our dreams, we hear a sound from reality and incorporate it in a way. For example you may be dreaming that you are in a concert, while your brother is playing a guitar during your sleep.
12. Men and women dream differently. Men tend to dream more about other men. Around 70% of the characters in a man’s dream are other men. On the other hand, a woman’s dream contains almost an equal number of men and women. Aside from that, men generally have more aggressive emotions in their dreams than the female lot.
13. Precognitive Dreams. Results of several surveys across large population sets indicate that between 18% and 38% of people have experienced at least one precognitive dream and 70% have experienced déjà vu. The percentage of persons that believe precognitive dreaming is possible is even higher, ranging from 63% to 98%.
14. If you are snoring, then you cannot be dreaming.
15. You can experience an orgasm in your dreams. You can not only have s e x as pleasurable as in your real life while dreaming, but also experience an o r g a s m as strong as a real one, without any wet results. The sensations felt while lucid dreaming (touch, pleasure and etc..) can be as pleasurable and strong (or I believe even stronger) as the sensations experienced in the real world.

I will officially start on February 1st, which also happens to be the first day of my new semester! and i think i will just focus on doing a weekly post, to keep the amount of pages down.

I really want to do project life, and it just so happens that Becky Higgin's is launching the digital version of the project today, so if you want the details when she posts them go over to her blog.

I am really struggling with how to do the project though. Ali Edwards posted her version on her blog today, and i love the way it looks in the paper version. I think a digital version would work best for me but Becky Higgin's version is too expensive, it will cost up-words of $100 to actually print the book, which i cannot afford.

Which brings me to my next point, i think i will just blog my year, either on this blog or another one, and keep a daily journal, both visual and writing. And after the year is up i will print my blog using blurb which will only cost me about $30-40 instead of $100. Much more affordable in my opinion. And to keep it on the cheaper side i think i will do a post a week with a weeks worth of journaling and pictures so it will have around 52 pages in it.

Some of the downsides of doing the project digitally is you cannot put memorabilia in the book, unless it is scanned in. which is something i will not do, i already know that. So to solve that problem i will just collect it in an envelope, and keep it with my printed book when it's finished. Another thing is all my writing will be typed, and you cannot put your own writing unless you scan it in as well, but i am okay with that because i include my writing on all of my pages, and my own personal journal.

I just thought i would share what i was thinking..... are you doing project life? or are you trying Project 365?? how are you going to do your album??

okay so i am a 365 dropout, twice, i know it's horrible. but the truth is it was too much stress to manage it, and print the photos and journaling etc. etc. and i didn't buy a kit from becky higgins so it wasn't that big of a deal.

But i am going to finish this project, i will i promise. it's just a matter of when!

Becky Higgins just came out with a new kit, called project life, that doesn't necessarily involve taking a photo a day, it's a little bit simpler then that, heres what she posted on her blog:

"PROJECT LIFE is the perfect solution for preserving your pictures and anecdotes and stories without all the time & money that traditional scrapbooking requires. PROJECT LIFE is for those who can keep up with taking a picture every day (I personally love this way of recording my family's life) ... and ... it's perfect for those who say that's just too much. It's just too hard to keep up with that pace. There is total & complete flexibility with PROJECT LIFE. "

Things to include include instead of a picture:

Artwork, sketches, handwriting, etc.
Quotes. Did someone say something funny or quirky or profound or memorable or interesting today? Quote them.

i am liking this alot, and she actually just posted on her blog that they will be releasing a digital kit as well, that you can use free of charge. At the end of the project though you can have the chance to buy it as a photobook if you choose, which is what i plan to do, when i get through this! My start date is going to be February 1 so wish me luck!

I know it has been a very long time since i have posted anything! and i really do feel bad about that, but i am going to make mush more of an effort to post more this year.

Right now i am sitting in our new scraproom and my mom's house, we repainted and moved all the furniture around after my older sister moved in with my dad. I am loving how it is turning out, and i am so excited to start working in it. I have been organizing like crazy these past couple days and throwing alot of stuff out that i know i will never use, and it feels good to get all that clutter out of my life!

I will post pictures as soon as it is all finished!

But back to right now, i am about to finish a book, sweetheart s by Sara Zarr which is very, very good. i would recommend reading it, and it will be a quick read too i promise, i could barley put it down when i started reading 2 nights ago.

I am sitting here with my book, and a cup of coffee, listening to james morrison, matt nathanson and ingrid michaelson and i could not be happier!

I made this awesome mini book using all 4x6 photo's printed at walmart's instant photo kiosk. i wanted a book where i could put some picture of the highlights of my summer, i would say there's proboblly 50 pictures in the book.

i glued most of the pictures back to back,a dn then chose some to put patterned paper on the back, where i could do some journaling.

This project was so fast to do, and sooo easy! especially because of my handy dandy Bind it all! i did mess up the hole punches on some of the pages, but decided just to leave it and embrace the imperfection.

my last year

i am going to write this because i think that it is really important, and i know it will be something that i look back on and cherish years from now.

i feels like high-school, or school in general has gone by so fast! i still remember almost every detail of my first day of high-school, and it seems crazy to me that i will actually be graduating this year. and to tell you the truth it scares me to death, it really does. after this year i will officially be and adult, school is no longer mandatory. The day of my graduation is like the first day to the rest of my life.

it also scares me because i have so much work ahead of me to even get to graduation, i still have a few courses to finnish, and a lot of hours that i need to be studying, so i can get good grades. I will also need to apply for scholarships this year, starting as soon as possible, and then comes the one thing that scares me the most.... applying for university.

i kind of know what i want to be doing for a career, but i am not 100% sure. i would like to go into graphic design, because i think i would really enjoy that, and possibly take some course in photography as well, because that's another one of my interests. but i don't know where i would go to take those courses, which is something i need to figure out.

i big thing for me though, is that i need to do something that i will enjoy 90% of the time, if not more. if i do not love my job, then i don't want to be doing it. i really enjoy scrap-booking, and using that creative side of me, so that's why i picked it.

But to sum it all up, i am scared to be finished school, and i know it will fly by. But i am also SO excited for this year, because i know it will be one of the best, it is already starting off that way. i cannot wait for next year, and finishing my education once and for all, but i am also sad, because a part of me doesn't want it to end.

we got back from holidays two days ago and i have sooo many photos to go through! between me and my sister we took over 1000 photo's, plus we went to drumheller today to see the dinosaur museum and took more pictures, anddd my older sister turned 19 two days ago so guess what... more pictures!

i am planning on doing a huge online photo order tonight or tomorrow and get it over with! and then a lot of scrapbooking for me! any suggestions on how to display or scrapbook these? something quick and easy?

yes i started again, after my last failed attempt! it just got to be too much for me because taking all of the pictures and journaling each day was so overwhelming so i stopped and now i am starting up again, mainly to capture my Grade 12 year, final year of highschool, because i think it will be an awesome keepsake!

i actually cleaned my room yesterday for the first time in a loooong time!

so my desk was clear and i decided i should take advantage of it while i have the chance lol. so i did two new pages, one about getting my macbook this february and about getting my license a month ago.

Journaling reads: i have saved up for my macbook forever! many months of hard earned tips and work earned me my very own macbook. And i absolutely love it, it is so easy to use, and i haven't had any problems. i have saved up for it for years, and yes it is expensive but soo worth it!

journaling on this one reads: after many hours of practice, countless tanks of gas and $600 spent on drivers ED i finally got my license, after my second try! i am so happy and excited and proud of myself for getting it! Next step buying a car!

Outside my window... summer is in full bloom!

I am thankful for... being able to relax, no work or school. And that it is summer... finally!

I am reading... twilight by Stephanie Meyer, i know what you're thinking, this is my third time reading it, and i was one of the first to read it as well, when it was first published, before this craziness started.

I am hoping... to do a lot of scrapbooking over the summer, and to actually enjoy summer this year, and finnish what is on my summer to-do list!
I am creating... lots of scrapbook pages,and hopefully some mini albums which i've got lots of ideas for.

I am praying... that the Mr. Barkwell gets better, and that we will go camping this year.
Around the house... a newly cleaned room first time in a couple weeks... or months! Definitely enjoying that!

One of my favorite things... having nothing to worry or stress about, and getting excited to go camping, one of my favorite places fore-sure.

A few plans for the rest of the week... work on the weekend, Parksale on sunday which i am soo excited about!

the other day i posted a comment on Stacey Julian's blog about where i was from, to see that there are people all over the world who scrap, and that we are all connected because of that. Well she took a look at my blog, and asked me if she could add me to her list of creative women! i am so excited, it may seem small but to me it is a big accomplishment! and i am proud of myself! will definitely be putting a page together with this!

I am also heading off on a camping trip tomorrow with my school, and i won't be back until friday night!

Went to our Local scrapbook stores over the weekend, and got a stash of new stuff, that i can't wait to start playing with!

I got a paper pack from basic grey, for 20 bucks, which i thought was a good deal?

Some AC ribbon, rubber alpha stamps, more paper, Making memories ribbon and some thickers! Can't get enough of those, i dont know why? That may just be my addiction lol.

Music is a very big part of my life, and i seriously would not give it up for anything in the world. it provides me a place where i can think and get lost in my thoughts.

one song i am loving right now is Ingrid Michaelson's new song.. i have no idea what it is called i will have to ask my sister, but i love it! i actually get butterflies everytime i listen to it! another one is the fray.. pretty much every song they've ever written i love, definatley recommend them to anyone who wants someone to listen too.

There is always one or two artists that you love, and will always love, because they have touched you with their music, and you can never go back. The fray is that for me, they gave me something that no one else could, and i will never forget that, or let that go.

i wish i could see them in concert, because i think it would be an amazing experience, but that may take awhile! but i will see them, trust me on that one!

i recently downloaded this polaroid camera onto my macbook it should be in their download section if you can't find it. Well it is compatible with mac or PC computers and i love it, it gives the same authentic feel that a real polaroid does, and on my computer it develops on the screen! it is the fun-nest tool ever! after dinner everyone usually has a cup of tea with dessert, and kristen decided to get some sugar and milk for everyone to put in their tea, but instead of getting a small bowl, and small jug for the milk, KRisten decided to bring the costco sized milk jug, and the huge bowl of sugar, just because this one time you decided that you want to save some dishes and make as little mess as you could, hard to believe i know! but it cracked everyone up, we were laughing for 5 minutes straight i swear!! it was funny that's foresure!

this is a layout i did for valentines day, about me and my younger sister. Her b-day is tomorrow, so i thought this would be appropriate, it's a page about why i love her.

1. She is so funny, like hilarious, everything that comes out of her mouth seems to be funny,and we have alot of good times because of it.

2. She is so outgoing, whereas i am more shy and closed off, it balances us out really well

3. When we're home alone we make as much noise as we possibly can, and it seems that whenever we're together just hanging out we have the best time! Always!

i totally just had a revelation after visiting American Crafts blog , Wow i actually just made that a link!! First time, i'm proud of myself! lol

But yeah back to the revelation:

i found a new way to do pro

ject 365, here's my idea, if you go couple of posts down they have instructions in how to make a cute valentine lunch box, and put 4x6 photos in with writing to use as valentines

So that got my creative juices flowing, and i came up with this:

get a lunch box like the one below, decorate as desired

Take a photo a day for a year

Print at 4X6

put all journaling on the back

For the dates, either add text before printing, or use a date stamp with white ink or other colors or so.

And assemble all in the lunchbox, as a filling sort of thing!!

well i'll tell you i was pretty darned excited with this idea, and kind of disappointed that i already have a system for my project, but if i do pretty well this year, i will definitely use this idea next year!

Just thought i would share for those of you who may not have an idea anymore!

This is a page about the present i gave my youngest sister, whose 14, for christmas. I was thinking and thinking for ages, wondering what to get her, and when me and my older sister, and my dad were walking through Wal-mart, i saw this: Mini frying pans. And i remembered that every-time we saw one together she would say, ohh i want one! So i gave her one for christmas, and she loved it! She had no idea, but it was awesome. The pan is the perfect size for her to make scrambled eggs, or a grilled cheese! But the look on her face was priceless when she opened the present!

This was a page i made about a month ago, i sewed a regular page protector into 3x3 squares, printed off some pictures and cut some paper, and put it all in! it was really easy, and really fast, and i love the way it turned out.

i got this idea from my cousin Carly, on Facebook, so here it goes:

1. one of the things i am most grateful in my life is having the opportunity to go to Carroll, and everyday i realize just how lucky i am to be there.

2. i don't know what u would do if i didn't have my music, i listen to it all day, and without it i think i would go crazy.

3. i will do anything to record all the everyday things, big or small, i want my kids to know as much about me as possible, and more importantly i want to remember everything that happens.

3. something i am most scared of is forgetting.

4. i want another pet, our home hasn't been the same since kitty died.

5. i believe that i am an "old soul", i've been here for while, because i act more like a 50 year old then a 16 year old.

6. i cannot wait until i turn 18 and become an adult

7. i am happy that i am not in the "popular" crowd, i couldn't be happier with the friends i've made, and i don't want to throw my life away with drugs and alcohol.

8. i love dressing up and getting all pretty!

9. i LOVE math, it's that thrill or going through all of those steps and then getting the right answer after all of it, and most important, there's only one answer!

10. Yes i am a book worm and i love it, i don't know what i would do without books, i love submerging myself in another life, a new adventure and conflict!

11. i could stay on the computer for hours, editing photos and browsing scrapbooking websites, message boards and blogs

12. i forget my age sometimes!

13. my ideal job would to be a professional photographer, it is my dream!

15. one thing i hope to achieve one day, is to write in my journal for 365 days, i dont know why i haven't done this one yet because i love journals and buying new ones, so you would think that would be motivation enough to get going! lol

16. i love being able to transform an ordinary photo into something i never thought possible.

17. i hope one day i will know how to use photoshop to it's full extent.

18.i want to explore the world, i don't want to be one of those people that never leaves their city or country.

19. i will never buy a pair of jeans over $30, i but cheap clothes, and i'm proud of it, because the truth is most people can't tell the difference.

Macbook

yesterday i was over at my dad's apartment and i finally got a chance to order my Macbook!!! i am so excited, I've been saving up for this, and thinking about buying it for almost a year now! and its finally happened, the worst part now is the fact that i have to wait for Mr. Delivery man to bring it to me! here's what i ordered yesterday:

My dad and mom didn't really want me to get the macbook just yet because my sister got hers as a graduation present, but i knew i wasn't waiting another year and a half to get mine! But then they wanted me to wait until at least June because they had a promotion going on last year, that if you bought a macbook you could get a free ipod, but that's still months away, and I've already saved up for my macbook, and i have enough money now. Plus i think i need this little pick me up right now, and i know that sometime before the summer i will be buying my first car, {Note to self, go for drivers test soon!} and i don't really want to put these two things together, buying a car is going to be very expensive, and i don't want to add this laptop on top of all that, sooo..... theres all my reasons!
it should ship sometime next week, or defiantly the week after that, but as long as i have it before February 10th, I'm happy!
Feb.10th is my high schools Open house, and I'll have to stay after school from 3-5:30 doing homework, and having my laptop with me will make it a little easier!

Mini

i Created a cute little mini, from some fabric that i got from a local quilting shop. Me and my mom went to a craft, okay well sewing/quilting/some scrapbooking fair in the fall, and we each one a door prize for a gift certificate for this quilting shop, so i got some fabric, and other little things with the money, and finally made a project with it! yay!
I used my new bind it all to put it all together, now all it needs is some pictures, i'm thinking i will put some baby pics in, about 10 i think. Each page is roughlly 4x4, i took a light weight cardboard, cut the fabric arround it and then sewed up the edges, and used pinking shears to make the edges look good!
i was inspired by Elizabeth Kartchner's mini book that she made about her daughter, so all the credit goes to that girl! She is such an inspiration, i would put a link, but i dont know how!! so any hel would be good!
i will post more pics, once the book is officially compleate!

Project 365

I am sooo on board with this it is not even funny! i am so excited already, and its only been a week! i have not ordered a kit from CK and i am happy that i didn't after what I've heard and seen about how the website crashed, and there weren't too many kits to go around. But i am very pleased with my plan of how i will accomplish my own album! i recently learned how to create my own divided page protectors off of another blog: http://http://onelittleword.typepad.com/olw/2008/10/karlas-tiptechn.html
so i have created my own! yay for me! i will do 52 all together, but i will only be creating them a week in advance, for example this week most of my photos are vertical so i made the 4x6 slots vertical, next week may be the same or different. the only thing i need to figure out is what to do about journaling cards, i may just have to make different ones everyday or something i don't know! i wish i could figure that out!
My page protectors look pretty much like the ones that came in the kit, and i have one extra slot for memorabilia, more journaling, extra photos, etc.

My take on the project is i will have one photo everyday, but i have not necessarily taken the photos, most will be mine, but other days may be an old picture of mine, a favorite photo of mine from years or months ago. or something that inspired me that day, or a movie or show i watched, so the pressure to take a photo a day isn't as great, there is still some slack for me. i know the whole idea of the project is to document everyday life, but i know i would fall off the band waggon within a couple weeks, so this works better for me.
I also think that's kind of a good thing, we should be able to adapt the project to our needs, and make it work for every one of us, and that's what i did for me!

Wrapped up all my presents yesterday, wasn't too many this year, but wrapping even a couple was good! i absolutley love wrapping presents, so if you need any wrapped just send them on over to me. Last year in my stocking santa left a 20 page MArtha Stewart book on how to wrap presents, so i used one idea from there, and printed off 2" square tags with pictures of the reciver, so no writing involved,and it gave the gift a different look.

Also made some Jam cookies, it was a simple oatmeal cookie recipe, and then i stuck some rasberry jam in the middle of two, and made a cookie sandwich, sooo yummy!!!
Trying to use these next couple days till christmas to catch up on my december daily album. i'll post some pictures once i start finnishing some pages.

Amazing day, and not in a good way

wow, today absolutely blew my mind,
before i get into the story i have some things to say, Life comes at you at a thousand miles and hour, and it can change in a split second, and i am so thankful that i am here right now, and that me and all of my peers are okay, and healthy, and unharmed physically. So here's what happened:

okay well today was a normal day until 1:30 this afternoon, when our whole school went into lock down for like 4 hours!apparently this girl who goes to our school broke up with her boyfriend who is not in school, so this guy was pissed off, and the girl and her best friend knew that he had a gun on him. Well today he sent her a threatening text or something, and then came to the school with 2 of his friends, and then the next thing you know our whole school is in lock down. i was in a student council meeting, with like 16 other people, stuck in a small, small room, no windows, no nothing, and pitch blackness, like you could seriously not see your own hand in front of your face! so we stayed there, and i thought it was just a practice lock down, but we were sitting there for 40 minutes, and then school ended, so we were like wow this is real. and then the police came in the school, and they ran through the whole school, checking doors, and making sure there was no one in the halls. and then they left, and we didn't hear anything for another hour and a half.
and then they stared evacuating the school. so like another 20 minutes of that, and then they got to our room. an like busted the door open, and had their guns pointing at us, and were like "Get down on the ground, put your hands in the air!" and like Oh My God they had gun's pointing at us, it was only police, but i mean come on!
that doesn't happen to just anyone, so then we were evacuated, and got to go home, but i didn't get home till 6, and being at school at 8:30!! crazy but no one was hurt, and they ended up not finding the guys who were in the school.
but i am just so thankful that no one was hurt. But i am still in shock, i can't believe that happened to us, it still hasn't hit yet!While all of this was happening, i was stuck in that room with no communication, and no idea what was happening, we were in complete darkness, we had no idea why we were in lock down, or how long we were going to be there or what was going on, so that was pretty scary.
The worst part was not knowing, thats what broke us down, and caused so much stress, every other person in the city knew what was going on except us! And that scares me.
But no one was hurt, we're all just shaken up, and glad that we were not alone in this, we experienced this as one, as an entire school, and i'm glad that we can all support each-other.

So i decided for one of my December daily pages i was going to write a letter to a total stranger, trying to spread the Christmas cheer, and let them know that they count in this life. so i started by making a card:

SNOW!!

Wow it finally snowed last night here in Calgary, well actually is started at like 8 in the morning and didn't stop until late. But it was a huge dump of fluffy white stuff!
It was the really heavy sticky stuff, so really bad to drive in and really easy to get stuck in! I worked yesterday doing brunch, and then called mom to come pick me up, well she got stuck in the alley, and Kristen and Erinn Had to push her out, and then she came to heritage Park and the city bus was vertical across the road, so she couldn't get by, and then she got stuck on a really small hill, and we had to get the worker men to push her out. It was very nice of them, and we got out after some work!
but my golly it was a huge mess! i was off early and i had some time to check out the new shops at heritage park, an antique store, which is my new favorite store! they have so many great things there, so many old albums and list could go on and on so i won;t get into that. but i picked up a couple gifts, and an old cigar box for me! i will re-decorate i think and put a mini album inside!

December Daily

I am following Ali Edward December Daily album, but i am already getting behind!! Not good, but i have the album already done, so i just need stuff to put inside, which is gonna be hard, since i am a full time student, its hard to do stuff everyday, but hope full i will get some stuff done!
The thing that i was to do today was drink Apple cider/ hot chocolate! that was easy, since i had Cran-apple cider, it is the best stuff you will ever have! EVER! makes me happy just thinking about it, sadly though it is disappearing fast, and i don't know where to get it again! too sad :(
December came too fast for me, i am already behind in school, and i have to do at least 30 units this month, which is only two weeks, it still hasn't started off great, and i am almost failing physics! if you don't know what units are, don't worry about it, if you didn't go to my school, then you probably wouldn't understand, which is okay!
anyway, i have lots of work to do!

So i started reading these books in grade nine, that was 3 years ago, way before it became so big. I was one of the first to fall in love with it, i just couldn't help it. They were SO good. I was so exctied when the last book came out Breaking dawn. It came out this summer, right before we went camping, which couldn't have been more perfect, The best beach read ever!! even though i finished most of it in the car ride there! Oh well, i just couldn't help myself. Anyway, the movie came out on Friday November 21st, which was last week, and of course i HAD to see it opening night! i mean come one i have been waiting for this for years!

But i have to say i was VERY dissapointed with the movie! I went with a friend who read the book adn she loved it, but i just didnt like it. And i dont think i will go and see the other ones. I think even trying and making a movie from that book is a dissaster,and dissapointment to start out with. you just cant do it. Oh and the Acting was horrible, so bad. Robert Patterson, i am sorry but you suck! your just too akward. And the music they chose for the movie was so bad too, to distracting, they could have chosen that better. And Jacob's teeth are way to white! I mean come on, they could have done a better job. There, that's my vent for the day! LOL

Sodapop and a Pretzel

This is a layout i did over the summer about my younger sister Erinn, who LOVES orange pop, and pretzels. I work at a historical village for my part time job, and we have old fashioned soda pop, which i bring home for occasionally. We went to the park one day with Kristen and Dad and spent most of the day walking around and seeing everything. And we bought an orange pop, and then one of the guys i worked with was almost closing up, and was going to throw out the pretzels, so he gave it to Erinn for free! she was one happy girl i have to say!

I think this was the first page i ever used American craft Thickers on! YAY me :)

Idea Book

I made this book so i could have all my ideas in one central place. The different tabs are: Sketches,Color swatches, journaling and Ideas (like page topics, and cards etc. ) i am really finding this very handy, and it helps me stay organized. i often write my ideas down in the book, and then refer to it later when i need some inspiration. Also when I'm browsing different blogs and galleries, and i see a layout, card or idea i like, i put it in a folder, and then every once in awhile i print out a whole bunch on one sheet. i Will also be including this in my idea book! This idea was featured in a CK magazine, i don't know which on exactly, but that's where my inspiration is from!

Had a great day at school today! not. our school went into a Mock lock down. A couple of weeks ago a school pretty close to mine went into lock down, after a man came in completely naked. But it is actually pretty scary to think that something like that or even worse could happen to us at my school. My biggest fear, is of a school shooting! It has been since elementary, when i first knew what high school was. Luckily though i go to a very, VERY safe school. Ours is much, much smaller then the average high school, and the way our school is run, and the teaching is so different, that everyone is so much more friendly, and nice. it really makes you appreciate what you've got!

Remembrance Day

It is remembrance day today. please take a minute of silence to reflect on all that our soldiers have done for us.

I would like to thank all the Canadian soldiers that have risked their life in battle, for the freedom of our country, and the safety of our people. Most of all i would like to offer comfort to all the families affected by the war, and all the previous wars. My heart especially goes out to the family of Corporal Nathan Hornburg, who was killed last year. He was a graduate of the same high school as me. Hid family came to our Remembrance day celebration last year, just a month after their son was killed. I cannot thank you enough for speaking to us,and sharing your story.

I will never Forget.

I am also posting pictures of some Christmas tags that i made a little while ago. I will either be using them on my presents or selling them at my Church's Craft sale NEXT year. I just took a cream piece of paper, lightly stamped a snowflake on, used my STUDIO G alphabet stamps, and tied some ribbon. Didn't take very long at all!

About those STUDIO G stamps. I popped into Michael's today with my mom, expecting to only get some paper that was on sale, and possibly use the 50% off coupon, and to my surprise they had the alphabet stamps!!! i was beyond excited. I picked up one set a couple months ago, like summer time, loved them once i used them, went back to get more, and they didn't have any. i was so disappointed. I have been looking for them ever since, and finally found them!! That seriously made my day! :D

Hello,

So in my last post i was stressed out because i couldn't find the Cord that charges my camera, well i FOUND IT!! and you'll never guess where it was.
Behind the SUGAR jar! i couldn't believe it! but all is well, camera's charged, and ready to go for Ali Edwards "A week in the life" project. Already started, and have a few pictures going. i will upload the ones for today, later on or tomorrow morning, along with the journaling i will be putting up.
Later this morning i will be creating templates for the album, as well as a gratitude journal. I will post pictures when i get them done!

In the meantime, i did a project a couple of months ago with some 4X6 frames that i will be putting up in my bedroom. here they are:

Turning 16

Okay, so I'm super excited about this new blog!

here's a project i did back in April, when i turned 16. it was my reflection on my life so far, and what i look forward to in coming years, and what i am afraid of experiencing, or challenges i will be facing. i am so glad i did this, its going to be a great keepsake in years to come.

okay, so i wanted to do the "week in the life" project that Ali Edwards featured a couple weeks back, and i was planning to start it on Sunday, and continue it all next week, but my camera is officially dead. And i cannot find the USB cord to plug it in to charge, ANYWHERE. Seriously where could it have gone? i must find it, next week is going to be a good week to do this project, i don't have a full week of school, so it will be much easier. What will i do? Must go look for it now.....

My first official blog!
I couldn't help myself after looking at everyone else's blogs for months, i just had to get my own! FINALLY.
Also, i've been looking at photobooks on blurb.com and thought it would be awesome if i could make my own book. And so i begin, the first page of my very own blog book!
